Contact support asa2fly. Prior to the interview I was provided by the airline an overview of what they would cover and a list of books to study. It explained the concepts I needed to understand - jet engines, commercial aircraft systems electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, anti icing, de icing, etc, etc very clearly for a GA Pilot with no previous jet experience.

I found myself referring to the Flight Manual more often than any of the other books they recommended as I prepared for the interview. They're helpful, but with your book, I feel it's all coming together! You can be sure I will recommend the Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual to others who may want to learn about flying jet engine aircraft. They were all a little jealous and said to say hi and thanks for the awesome book. Sure is a long way from a C, but I wouldn't trade this ride for anything!

Adam Travis. Niederer, B pilot. A basic knowledge of systems and terminology is invaluable, not only for initial training but also for your presentation during the interview process. A must read! My background is in electrical engineering, not engines, so I knew I desperately needed some understanding of turboprop engines before I arrived. Not only did I learn the details of the engines, I learned about how some things on the electrical side are done differently than I had thought.

While manipulating the controls of these aircraft will be familiar to anyone who's flown a small plane, the systems, particularly the engines, are significantly different. The beauty of reading his book is that I actually understood the sentence describing the engine in the Caravan's POH: 'Free turbine, two-shaft engine utilizing a compressor section having three axial stages and one centrifugal stage, an annular reverse-flow combustion chamber, a one-stage compressor turbine, a one-stage power turbine, and a single exhaust.

Like they say, 'A picture is worth a thousand words. Download this Aircraft Systems. For Windows Users - Once the file is downloaded, open it up and find the "tpfm" folder. Double click to open and choose Run. Double click to open. Download Aircraft Systems.

My main concern going into this interview was: how would I learn enough about turbine engines, commercial aircraft systems electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc , and high altitude and high speed aerodynamics that'd I'd had no previous experience with in just 10 days in order to pass muster in the technical airline interview? The airline provided a selection of books to study, which I purchased, but I also purchased this book.

It provided very clear and concise information on all of the above in a way that I could understand and use on the interview. It was easy to read, used real life examples that made the concepts easy to understand and provided just the right depth of information. I highly recommend this book to prepare for an airline interview if you have no previous turbine experience and, after reading it, I will refer to it again when I prepare to fly other turbine aircraft!

Book was recommended by a recruitment officer for a regional airline. This book along, with a couple of others, were recommended in order to prep for transitioning to part flying. I can't say if it is detailed enough, but I am learning a lot and it is presented in a way that is not over complicated.

Printing is The book itself is great. Very helpful for someone transitioning into turbine aircraft. It covers a lot of subjects that a turbine pilot may need to know about but manages to do it in a very general way so that most of the book is helpful to you no matter what type of turbine aircraft you are going to be flying.

The only issue I have is that many of the pages are sort of If that makes sense. I've added a photo to show an example of what I'm talking about. The first time I came across it, I thought my eyes were going blurry or I was having a stroke or something.

I looked away and nothing else looked doubled, then looked at the top of the page and it was fine. I showed someone else to make sure I wasn't seeing things. They verified the partial double printing. The double print issue isn't a HUGE deal, but be ready for it because it can be a little bit scary at first. After you realize what it is, then it's just annoying. It's not the entire book by any means, but I wish it wasn't there at all.

I don't know if all of the books are like this, or just mine, but be prepared to see it so you don't get freaked out by it. By MissK on March 25, Images in this review. Purchased after an interview and found most of the exact worded answers the interviewer was looking for regarding turbine engine design. Easy to understand and material covers other subjects as well. Great desk reference along side a few other books for the professional pilot in your family.

I have been an airline pilot for over 25 years having started with Turboprops and then moved on the the bigger jets including wide-bodies. This an excellent book for a new entrant as well as a review for those who have "forgotten" or never learnt some of the basics.

The explanations are simple and to the point. I wish I had this book in when I started my first airline job! It was such a big jump from flight instructing and this book would have answered all my questions. If you have an interview this book will help a lot. Thumbs up! As a military pilot going for an airline interview, this book is fantastic for the interview prep.

This is brilliant at explaining things, and it seems as if he had the military pilot in mind when he wrote it. Really great review of all the applicable interview topics. This is a good book, well written, easy to understand. Explanations of aircraft systems are very straightforward and simple. The book is fun for me because I met the author a few years ago and did not know until recently that he had written this book. One person found this helpful.

I highly recommend that every airline pilot candidate about to head off to ground school read this book cover to cover. It is a great overview of many topics that will be covered and, in some cases, offers more detail for understanding than ground school has time to go into. See all reviews.
